# Empowering Human Rights: Career and Internship Opportunities at the National Commission on Violence Against Women
The National Commission on Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan) serves as a cornerstone for human rights advocacy in Indonesia. Established by Presidential Decree No. 181/1998 and reinforced by Presidential Regulation No. 8/2024, our mission is to foster a safe, conducive environment dedicated to eradicating gender-based violence and upholding the fundamental rights of women.
To strengthen our impact, we are currently seeking passionate, qualified professionals to join our Legal and Policy Reform Division, as well as motivated individuals to participate in our internship program marking the two-decade milestone of the Law on the Elimination of Domestic Violence.
## Professional Opportunities: Legal and Policy Reform Division
The Legal and Policy Reform Division is the engine room for institutional change, managing the full cycle of program planning, budgetary oversight, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. We are currently recruiting for two pivotal roles:
1. Assistant Coordinator: National Policy Analysis and Advocacy
* Role Code: 021-AKRHK-KTN-2024
* Contract: 1 Year
* Primary Focus: This position is essential for developing high-level research, policy evaluations, and advocacy strategies focused on national legislation.
2. Assistant Coordinator: Regional Policy Analysis and Advocacy
* Role Code: 023-AKRHK-KTD-2024
* Contract: 1 Year
* Primary Focus: This role facilitates the development of policy analysis and advocacy efforts specifically tailored to regional regulatory landscapes.
## Core Responsibilities for Assistant Coordinators
Both roles require a dynamic individual capable of bridging the gap between research and policy action. Key responsibilities include:
* Policy Research: Analyzing draft legislation and conducting formal or material reviews of regional and national regulations to ensure alignment with constitutional human rights standards.
* Strategic Advocacy: Building constructive dialogues with stakeholders in legislative, executive, and judicial bodies to influence the adoption of policies that protect women’s rights.
* Administrative Excellence: Preparing comprehensive work plans, managing budgets, and drafting high-quality program reports.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Mapping relevant partners and maintaining open lines of communication with public and civil society organizations.
* Operational Readiness: Coordinating internal division workflows and participating in urgent, field-based advocacy missions as required.
## Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for these professional roles, candidates must demonstrate:
* Education: A Bachelor’s degree (S1) or higher in Law or Social Sciences.
* Experience: A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in human rights advocacy, legal drafting, or policy evaluation.
* Skill Set: Proven ability in quantitative and qualitative analysis, stakeholder mapping, and budgetary management.
* Ethical Commitment: A deep understanding of victim-centered justice and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
* Soft Skills: Exceptional communication abilities, a collaborative mindset, and the flexibility to travel and operate under pressure in field situations.
## Internship Opportunities: 2 Decades of the Law on the Elimination of Domestic Violence
In addition to our professional openings, we are inviting applications for a 3-month internship program. We are seeking 3 dedicated interns to provide essential support for our upcoming commemoration and campaign regarding the two-decade anniversary of the Law on the Elimination of Domestic Violence.
* Duration: June – September 2024
* Goal: To engage the public in the work of Komnas Perempuan and contribute to significant national awareness initiatives.
